The Faculty of Letters continues the tradition of philological education in Bacau and constantly improves its educational offer, adapting it to the requirements and dynamics of contemporary society.

In addition to the traditional study programmes for students specialising in Romanian language and literature and foreign languages and literatures (English and French), there are also two other B.A. study programmes – Communication and Public Relations and Pedagogy of Primary and Preschool Education – as well as five M.A. study programmes which actively contribute to students’ reaching a proficient level in language and communication competences. This constant effort on the part of our academic staff enables our graduates to benefit from better opportunities of entering the labour market as teachers, public relations specialists, specialists for public administration or European institutions, etc. The Faculty of Letters also provides courses of professional conversion and Romanian preparatory courses for exchange students.

One important way of ensuring the quality of our students’ training at the Faculty of Letters is by encouraging international mobility stays through the Erasmus plus Programme due to the agreements which are active in our Faculty and 30 Universities and by also encouraging other types of collaboration with foreign partners.

All the members of the academic staff from our Faculty have a PhD title.

All the study programmes are accredited by the entitled bodies.

Our Faculty has two departments:

  • Department of foreign languages and literatures with two branches:

* English language and literature

* French language and literature

  • Department of Romanian language and literature and communication sciences with two branches:

* Romanian language and literature

* Communication and public relations
